Anyone can get Tuberculosis (TB).  It is a serious disease caused by a form of bacteria that can be spread from person to person through the air.  TB can scar the lungs and other parts of the body, such as kidneys, bone structure or the brain.  TB disease can almost always be cured, but it can be fatal if medications are not taken properly.

TB symptoms:  The symptoms for TB may include a  continual cough, coughing up blood, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, and weight loss.

Testing should occur every 1 to 3 years depending on state requirements.  If confirmed exposure occurs, a TB test should be

performed immediately.
